Free Will Family Ministries (Alcohol and Drug)

The program provides a structured setting within the community with limited 24 hour supervision. The services include but are not limited to: assessment, individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy or any combination of counseling services.

Eligibility Requirements

Males ages 12-18 has a substance-related disorder as a primary or secondary DSM-IV diagnosis. Youth eligible for Alcohol and Drug treatment services may exhibit co-occurring substance-related and mental disorders such as, depression, oppositional, conduct, personality and mood disorders. is ineligible if they indicate a need for medical detoxification, actively suicidal or homicidal, severely autistic, or has active psychosis. Diagnosis of Mental Retardation are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. I.Q. lower than 55, or who have adaptive functioning indicating moderate to severe Mental Retardation are not appropriate. must be assessed as being low to moderate community risk and displays a pattern of serious substance abuse/dependency as demonstrated by significant social and functional impairment with the family, school, peers, and/or community. requires limited 24 hour supervision to prompt or support progress in the recovery process. likely to be cooperative and ready to participate in the treatment process at this level of treatment intensity. Some level of denial and resistance is common in most adolescents who abuse drugs and alcohol, and the treatment program will be expected to work with some clients who start the process without motivation for recovery. Family/Primary Support/Commitment required Supporting documentation for at least one of the following criteria: A. Unable to achieve or maintain abstinence and recovery in a less intensive level of community-based treatment within the past six (6) months. B. Continuing drug use places them at risk of impending harm to their physical health or related conditions (i.e., sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy, etc.) without more intensive intervention. C. achieved their treatment goals within a more intensive residential program, but still requires a lower intensity in areas of:familial, social, educational or occupational functioning is appropriate for this level of treatment.
