LeBonheur Community and Well Being's Healthier Beginnings Program (HFA)
A voluntary support program for parents expecting a child or who have a young child. A trained professional will help you by coming to your home to answer questions about your child’s health and development. They also can help connect you to resources in your community to help you be the best parent you can be. You will benefit by having support for you, your child, and your family. You will better understand your baby, and learn new ways to support your child’s development.
The Healthy Families America (HFA) Model is available to residents of Shelby County who are first-time teen mothers and to mothers who are pregnant or have newborns under the age of two weeks at the time of the referral. The Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) Model is available to residents of Shelby County who are first-time, low income mothers. Expecting mothers must be enrolled prior to the 28th week of pregnancy.
