Therapeutic Family Preservation and Reunification Services - Smoky Mountain Region
Therapeutic Family Preservation and Reunification Services are provided via a contract with TN Dept. of Children's Services (DCS) for the East TN region. Services are provided to support children and families remaining safely together in their own homes, or to be safely reunited in a timely manner to permanency.
Services include: 1- Family Support Services (FSS)- Home and community based family preservation to assist and stabilize children and families who are at risk at entering State's custody. 2- Family Visitation Services (FVS/TVS)- Standard and therapeutic family visitation for children who are in State's custody with their biological parent(s) and/or sibling(s). 3- Family Violence Intervention (FVI)- Therapeutic intervention with children families dealing with family violence issues.
Referrals for Therapeutic Family Preservation and Reunification are made directly by DCS workers with approval from the DCS regional funding units required for initial and ongoing services
Authorization from Department of Childrends Services as recommended by the assigned DCS case worker and presented to DCS Fiscal Department for approval.
