Be Sharp

 
 
 

This is a comprehensive substance abuse prevention program targeting youth (ages 10-16) who are at high risk for substance use/abuse in rural Middle Tennessee counties. Be Sharp uses Keepin’ It REAL, an evidence-based curriculum. Each 12 week group session is provided in community-based settings and focuses on enhancing individual knowledge, motivation, and skills necessary to develop healthy communication/negotian skills, anti-drug attitudes, and avoidance of high-risk behaviors.

Eligibility Requirements

Children/youth are referred to Be Sharp based on the following criteria….potential high school dropout, in foster care, living at or below poverty level, has family member with substance abuse issue, has low school performance / truancy, or has an active or veteran military family member. You will be referred to the program by local community schools or agencies/organizations to receive services. Parental / Guardian permission is required to participate in Be Sharp services.
