Family Voices of Tennessee

We connect families with each other, community resources, experienced parent mentors, tools to navigate complex systems in healthcare and insurance and more.

By training families, we are empowering them to advocate for the needs of their child and to lead in their local communities and beyond.

In serving as leaders alongside families, we are educating healthcare providers, policy makers, teachers and others on the improved outcomes from including, listening to and honoring the voices of these families.

Our unique network of staff and volunteers have personal experience navigating the healthcare journey of an individual with a special healthcare need, chronic illness or disability.

We serve families and children across all diagnoses and all ages.

Our programs provide support, information and resources from someone who is on a similar journey caring for a child with a special health care need, chronic illness or disability.

We can help by:

Problem-solving

Providing emotional support

Connecting you to community resources

Sharing first-hand experience and tips

Making referrals to other agencies who can provide additional support

Providing assistance in navigating your healthcare system

Connecting you with other parents through our PEARS Program (Our program for families and children who are deaf or hard of hearing), Parent-to-Parent Mentorship or a Parents Reaching Out Session (Our educational/support meeting for parents with children in the NICU and for moms on high-risk pregnancy bed-rest).
