Foster Parent Advocacy Program

The Advocacy Program was established in 1997 by the board of the Tennessee Foster Adoptive Care Association after the Foster Parent Bill of Rights law was passed into law. Advocates are available to provide needed support, guidance, and representation to Foster Parents. Every DCS and Private Agency Foster Parent has the right to Advocate support and representation. There is at least one Advocate located in each of the 12 DCS Grand Regions throughout the state. Advocates steadfastly work to protect and support the rights of Foster Parents while also being vigilant in promoting the safety and well-being of children as paramount above anything else.
