Regional Intervention Program (RIP) - Nashville

RIP is designed for the early treatment of children under 6 years of age with moderate to severe behavior disorders. This is a parent-implemented program supported by a small professional and paraprofessional staff. Parents serve as primary teachers and behavior change agents for their own child, and as daily operators of the overall program.

Eligibility Requirements

This program is for families of children under the age of six years who have moderate to severe behavior disorders. The parent needs help controlling the challenging behavior of their child. No mental health diagnosis is needed. Parents may self-refer if their child is showing significant behavioral problems. Referrals may also be made by professionals, but the parent must be the person who calls the program. Parents must be willing to participate in program with their child, since this is a parent implemented program. Parents learn from other parents who have mastered the techniques taught in RIP. Programs last two hours a day for two days a week.
