Dream Seekers Program offers comprehensive support to young people ages 14- 26, who are currently in foster care or aging/aged out of foster care. The Dream Seekers center is a one-stop resource center for these young people. We help them to meet their goals for independence by connecting them to their community, and offering a support system as they grow from youth to adulthood. Dream Seekers can be referred to the program from various sources and community partners such as Tennessee Department of Children’s Services, Youth Villages, OmniVisions, Meritan, Shelby County Schools, other foster youth, and other organizations that serve youth. We provide financial education training to those young people as well as support in meeting their goals for stability.
Young person has to have been in DCS custody at the age of 14 or after. This must be verified through DCS Independent Living Specialist. Young person must take a prerequisite cognitive behavior educational course prior to becoming eligible to enroll in the Financial Education course, which culminates with the opening of a checking and savings account for the young people.
