Signal Centers: Helping Families and Young Children Across Tennessee

Signal Centers began in Chattanooga in 1957 as a classroom for just nine children with cerebral palsy. Over the years, it has grown into a statewide organization with 13 programs that serve thousands of families. Today, Signal Centers provides early childhood education, developmental services, disability support, and professional training.

The nonprofit’s mission is to create a path to lifelong self-sufficiency for all. Families across Chattanooga and surrounding counties rely on Signal Centers as a trusted partner for care, resources, and hope.
